Although the internal speakers are laughably bad (for the price), it is still extremely annoying.
It seems this issue dates back to 2013 - yet Lenovo still has not released a fix. Some say Lenovo replaced their machine, only to receive another with the exact same problem. At the end of this post are some links to other forum posts which detail other people's experiences with the same issue. It seems this issue is extremely common, if not universal, and most people just don't seem to notice it. When I plug in headphones to the computer the noise stops it only occurs when sound is playing through the laptop's internal speakers. If I mute the sound using the volume buttons, the sound always stops. If I pause music (or any other audio) the noise stops after a few seconds, yet it resumes immediately after I play audio again. Whenever I adjust the volume of the internal speakers above zero (or play audio through them) I hear a persistent crackling/hissing noise which comes from the right side of the computer.
